Welcome to JBiomag 2016!

It is my great honor and pleasure to invite you to the 31st Annual Meeting of Japan Biomagnetism and Bioelectromagnetics Society (JBiomag 2016). The meeting will take place June 9-10, 2016 at Kanazawa Bunka Hall in Kanazawa City located on the west coast of Japan.

Biomagnetism spans a wide area of research comprising SQUID system, signal analysis, magnetoencephalography, magnetocardiography, magnetospinography, transcranial magnetic stimulation, magnetic field effects, and MRI/fMRI. Since it was founded 30 years ago, the JBiomag has been providing a unique forum for intensive exchange of information on the state-of-the-art among a variety of disciplines comprising physics, mathematics, engineering, physiology, psychology, and clinical medicine. I am proud of Japanese contribution to the progress of biomagnetic research for the past decade.

Kanazawa is a beautiful city filled with traditional culture in Japan. Many famous sightseeing spots, such as Kenrokuen Garden, beautifully renovated Kanazawa Castle, and 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art are located within walking distance of the conference venue. During the JBiomag 2016 meeting I am sure you will find that newness and traditional culture coexist in modern-day Kanazawa. June is the best season for tourists and you can enjoy the extraordinary beauty of the fresh green in the mountains nearby Kanazawa.
I look forward to welcoming you in Kanazawa.

Sincerely,
Gen Uehara
